One day in Milan

Milan as a city, don’t need any special introduction. It is one of the four fashion capitals of the world and often looked upon as a gateway to Italy. Most of the budget airlines fly to Milan airport from all over Europe. In the city, there are usually more numbers of boutiques than the monuments. If one is in Milan, then shopping becomes the prime reason.

We flew to Milan’s Malpensa airport from København with Norwegian morning flight on 7th April. The flight was swift, comfortable & on time. We took the airport bus called ‘Malpensa Shuttle’ to reach the Milan city. We had booked our accommodation via Airbnb, which was around 5 kms outside city centre. We were staying in Milan for 1 night and had 1 day to explore the city.

After meeting our hosts & settling down in our rooms, we started off with the city exploration. Since we were out of city centre, that meant we had to use bus or tram as a commute to reach the centre. It was a rainy day in Milan, which meant that we had to focus more on the indoor things. We mainly wandered around the  Piazza Del Duomo and visited Milan’s cathedral & Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

After that, strolled through the series of boutiques lined up one after the another ,which included all sort of designers – local, international, small, big, cheap, pricey, young & old! Now I don’t even remember more than half of their names! But that proves why Milan is a fashion capital!

From the eating perspective, the most famous thing in Milan is Panzerotti. And we got the chance to try the one from the traditional Luini bakery – they are one of the best choices for Panzerotti! Had a great ice cream @Cioccolat Italiani – heaven for chocolate & ice cream lovers!

The city itself is very contained and being in the city for only 1 day along with helping hand from rain, we did not had much chance to move out of city centre. But definitely a city to be on everyone’s card!
